Mr. Johnston has more than 39 years of sales, sales management, managed care and payer marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Johnston’s experience includes 36 years with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and 3 years with D2 Consulting. In his career, Mr. Johnston has engaged in over 200 new product launches.

While at GSK, Mr. Johnston began his career in a sales territory in Kansas City, Mo, and was later promoted to District Sales Manager covering four states in the Midwest. Subsequently, he was promoted to Regional Vice President of Sales in Chicago where he was responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing of GSK pharmaceutical brands across 5 states.

From his role as RVP, Mr. Johnston moved to the newly created Managed Care Division of GSK holding various positions including Regional Accounts Manager, National Accounts Manager in the GPO segment, and 2 years on a special assignment in the PBM space working with Diversified Pharmaceutical Services. Mr. Johnston also gained valuable experience with responsibility for State Medicaid in Illinois and the VA Acquisition Center in Chicago. In this role, Mr. Johnston gained broad experience working with all primary Payers and PBM’s in the Midwest.

Currently he supports D2 in working with companies to launch and gain access and reimbursement across all major Payers, PBM’s, State Medicaid and the VA in the Midwest market.

Mr. Johnston has a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Missouri University with a double major in Business Administration and Criminal Justice Administration.
